In detail
Mobile app development for iOS and Android
We are a mobile app development team that designs, builds and ships apps for iOS and Android. We work with startups launching a first product, companies that need an app for customers or field teams, and brands that want their own channel with payments and subscriptions.
We build native apps in Swift and Kotlin when the product needs peak performance or deep platform access, and cross-platform apps in Flutter or React Native when one codebase for both stores makes more sense, without compromising on quality.
What a well-built app includes
Product design and user-tested prototypes, a polished interface, backend and APIs, payments through StoreKit, Google Play Billing or Stripe, push notifications, analytics, offline support where it matters and encryption of sensitive on-device data.
Our app development process
We start with the problem and the user. Discovery turns your idea into flows, key screens and a prioritised feature list. This is where most of the cost is decided, so we take it seriously.
Next we design a clickable prototype and validate it before writing code. Changing a screen in design takes hours; changing it in code takes weeks.
Development runs in short increments you can install on your own phone through TestFlight or Google Play internal testing. Every build is code-reviewed and tested on real devices.
We handle the release: store listings, screenshots, privacy disclosures, Apple and Google review, and launch. After launch we stay on for maintenance, metrics and new versions.
How much does it cost to build an app?
It depends on platforms, feature count, design depth, backend and integrations. We nearly always recommend starting with an MVP: the smallest version that solves the core problem, ships early and gives you real data to decide what comes next. You get a fixed proposal with scope, timeline and price before we start.
Typical cost drivers are whether you need iOS, Android or both, user accounts and roles, real-time features, offline sync, payments, integrations with existing systems, and how custom the design is. We make each of those trade-offs visible so you decide where the budget goes.
Why choose ARK as your app development company
We build our own products too, such as Savvy, a personal-finance app that works offline, with an encrypted database and AI running on the phone itself. We know what it takes to get an app through review and keep it alive.
And apps are only part of what we do. If your app needs a marketing website, an admin dashboard, a game or 3D experience, or a US or UK company to bill and collect subscriptions internationally, one team coordinates it all. One conversation to launch the whole digital business.
Technology
Swift and SwiftUI, Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, Flutter and Dart, React Native, Firebase, StoreKit 2, Google Play Billing, Stripe, and backends in Node.js, Go or Python on the cloud of your choice.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to build an app?
It depends on platforms, features, design, backend and integrations. You get a fixed proposal after discovery, and we usually recommend starting with an MVP.
Native or Flutter?
Native (Swift or Kotlin) when you need peak performance or very platform-specific features; Flutter or React Native when one codebase for iOS and Android fits better. We recommend what suits your product.
How long does it take to build an app?
A well-scoped MVP typically takes a few months across design, development and release. Complex apps with many integrations take longer.
Do you publish the app to the App Store and Google Play?
Yes. We prepare listings, screenshots and privacy disclosures, handle Apple and Google review, and support the launch.
What happens after launch?
We offer maintenance, updates for new iOS and Android versions, analytics and ongoing feature development.
